10 years for exposing government and corporate crimes is unjust! New Jeremy Hammond posters

 [From the support website freejeremy.net]
Jeremy Hammond, a former member of the hacking network Anonymous who has become a cause célèbre for hacktivists, civil libertarians and those concerned about the rights of whistleblowers, is a gifted young computer programmer who is currently spending a decade in prison. His crime? Leaking information from the private intelligence firm Strategic Forecasting, information which revealed that Stratfor had been spying on human rights activists at the behest of corporations and the U.S. government.

In a non-cooperating plea deal, Jeremy pled guilty to one count of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. Despite lodging nearly 265 letters of support calling on judge Loretta Preska to show leniency, Jeremy was sentenced to the maximum allowed under his plea agreement.

Since March of 2012, Jeremy has been cut off from his friends and family, and punished with extensive stays in solitary confinement – treatment normally reserved for the most egregious offenses. He did nothing for personal gain and everything in hopes of making the world a better place and he needs our support now more than ever. Please visit the support website to learn how you can help!

You can view the Stratfor emails at WikiLeaks.

Julian Assange: 2 Years in the Embassy (and the bit before)—#SunOrCell infographic

2 years ago on June 19, Julian Assange sought asylum from political persecution in the Embassy of Ecuador, London.

This new infographic attempts to tell the story since that time, and to put that story in the context of the events leading up to that day.

Of course there is more depth and complexity to the story than can be portrayed in this "easy-to-view" format. A good place to start is the website justice4assange.com where you'll find a new FAQ.

There's also a great new site here, counting the UK taxpayer money wasted "guarding" the Ecuadorian embassy since 19 June 2012.

There's also a link to download a jpg below if you'd like to embed it in your blog or site. And HERE you'll find a zip folder of 8xA3 greyscale pdfs for a home print of the entire infographic. They overlap so you can trim and overlay the ends of each 'panel' when pasting up.

Projects like this take many late nights and even more cups of tea. Everyone is calling for donations these days. I don't have a donate button sitting here because my own new site is still under development - it gets pushed down the list with other more pressing solidarity projects.

Free Barrett Brown: You can help flyer
